We finally did it! We are now open!
As of this September we are open and located at 7975 Yonge St, Unit 1 in Stroud. Its been a long journey and its taken longer than we planned but we are glad to finally be here!
Our team includes a registered Speech-Language Pathologist and a Communicative Disorders Assistant with combined experience of over 25 years! We have a range of experience working with the pediatric population. From treating children that don’t want to talk, have difficulty putting words together or children that are really hard to understand, we can help. From at-risk children such as those with down syndrome, autism or cerebral palsy to the child with ADD and learning disabilities and everyone in between, we have seen it all!
We even do assessments and therapy in French. Amanda is fluent in English and French so should you have children attending french immersion, are fluent French speakers or you are wondering about whether learning a second language is right for your child, Amanda is the one to help!
We are not afraid to get on the floor with your child and when we leave work covered in various unknown stains and sticky hair, we know its been a good day!
If you are worried about your child’s speech and language skills, or just want the peace of mind that your child is on the right track, we offer free 15 minute screenings where we will discuss your concerns and listen to your child in an unstructured relaxed environment in order to determine whether they are meeting expected milestones. If the therapist thinks there may be a delay, a formal speech and language assessment may be recommended to determine the nature of the delay and to establish possible goals for therapy. If there are no concerns, your fears are eased and your child will have had some free play time! The screenings are a tool to give the therapist a rough estimate of the child’s level of communication and cannot replace a formal assessment. If your not sure if we can help with whatever difficulties your child may be experiencing, just give us a call. If we can’t help we will steer you in the direction of someone who can. We work closely with family doctors, pediatricians, schools, ear nose and throat specialists, psychologists and behavior consultants and can help you get a referral.
We are open Monday to Saturday as well as some evenings to suit all schedules. Therapy can be weekly, bi-weekly or even on a monthly basis for consultation to suit busy schedules and budgets.
